What do the NKF do?

The NKF is unique because it is run by Kidney Patients for Kidney Patients and offers the following services:

• Helpline: The NKF runs the only UK Helpline with experienced advisers providing service to kidney patients, carers, healthcare professions and renal units. The NKF Helpline is open 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday on 0800 169 09 36
• Kidney Life magazine: NKF distributes its own free quarterly magazine to more than 15,000 renal patients.
• National Kidney Federation Conference: NKF holds an annual National Conference to provide a platform for patients to tell the NKF where the shortcomings are in renal provision.

The role of the NKF is to support all UK kidney patients and our dedicated helpline receives many calls from patients wishing to take a holiday who require suitable travel insurance for their medical conditions.

We are in a unique position to collect feedback from patients which helps us to recommend insurance companies.  We are aware that each case is taken on its own individual merits. The NKF are always happy to give out Freedom Insurance Services contact details to patients as we know they will be able to help travellers with medical conditions.
