Travel insurance for people with breast cancer

With so many affected by this condition, many are left facing the same question - where can I get travel insurance? At Freedom we specialise in providing cover for many medical conditions including breast cancer for patients and non-patients.

We understand that no two cancers are the same and that's why we look at each case on its individual merits in order to provide you with the best cover available. We know treatment can vary depending on the severity of the breast cancer and we aim to provide cover regardless of whether you’re a patient that has been treated by radiotherapy, chemotherapy or had surgery. If you're a patient currently undergoing treatment for cancer or are awaiting surgery, it can be more difficult to obtain full cover but we will still endeavour to find you a policy which meets your needs.

The main advantage of obtaining cancer travel and holiday insurance is knowing that in the event it causes a problem either prior to or during your trip, you will be covered for anything related directly or indirectly to the breast cancer. If for example if you were to develop swelling or tenderness of the breast and this was to cause a problem while you are away 'standard' travel insurance wouldn't necessarily cover you for this. If, however you have taken out a specialist insurance which specifically includes complications due to the cancer then cover would apply.

Did you know? Men get diagnosed with breast cancer too - although with around 300 men diagnosed each year in the UK, it's much rarer. We cover both female and male breast cancer.

Breast cancer travel and holiday insurance at a fair price

The advantage of obtaining travel insurance that covers you for pre-existing medical conditions such as breast cancer, is that in the unlikely situation of a claim arising due to any sort of re-occurrence or complication of the condition you and anyone else on the policy with you, will be covered to claim (subject to policy terms and conditions). This means that you can travel with the peace of mind that if there are any problems while you're away, Freedom has got it covered.

Our prices are based on a person’s current state of health at the time of taking out a policy, so if you are a patient currently being treated for breast cancer or have been given the all clear, we will tailor a policy that specifically meets your individual needs, making sure you have the right level of cover for your trip.
