With so many affected by this condition, many are left facing the same question - where can I get travel insurance? At Freedom we specialise in providing cover for many medical conditions including breast cancer for patients and non-patients.
We understand that no two cancers are the same and that's why we look at each case on its individual merits in order to provide you with the best cover available. We know treatment can vary depending on the severity of the breast cancer and we aim to provide cover regardless of whether you’re a patient that has been treated by radiotherapy, chemotherapy or had surgery. If you're a patient currently undergoing treatment for cancer or are awaiting surgery, it can be more difficult to obtain full cover but we will still endeavour to find you a policy which meets your needs.
The main advantage of obtaining cancer travel and holiday insurance is knowing that in the event it causes a problem either prior to or during your trip, you will be covered for anything related directly or indirectly to the breast cancer. If for example if you were to develop swelling or tenderness of the breast and this was to cause a problem while you are away 'standard' travel insurance wouldn't necessarily cover you for this. If, however you have taken out a specialist insurance which specifically includes complications due to the cancer then cover would apply.
Did you know? Men get diagnosed with breast cancer too - although with around 300 men diagnosed each year in the UK, it's much rarer. We cover both female and male breast cancer.
The advantage of obtaining travel insurance that covers you for pre-existing medical conditions such as breast cancer, is that in the unlikely situation of a claim arising due to any sort of re-occurrence or complication of the condition you and anyone else on the policy with you, will be covered to claim (subject to policy terms and conditions). This means that you can travel with the peace of mind that if there are any problems while you're away, Freedom has got it covered.
Our prices are based on a person’s current state of health at the time of taking out a policy, so if you are a patient currently being treated for breast cancer or have been given the all clear, we will tailor a policy that specifically meets your individual needs, making sure you have the right level of cover for your trip.

Specialist travel insurance including pre-existing medical conditions
We are specialists with over 17 years of experience. We've been providing travel insurance policies for people with a variety of pre-existing medical conditions since 2002.
You can apply here online or over the telephone; it’s quick, simple and totally confidential. To provide you with a quote, you’ll need to let us know where you are travelling to, and for how long. Make sure to declare your cancer and any other pre-existing medical conditions that apply to you and anyone else on the policy.
You will be guided through a medical screening questionnaire, where a series of relevant questions will be asked to assess your health, particularly regarding breast cancer. These questions should be answered accurately and to the best of your knowledge. You will then be presented with available policy options, which include cover for declared medical conditions as well as cover for cancellation, baggage, personal accident and lots more.
If you need assistance at any point, please call us and we'll gladly assist you!

"Excellent company and great service. I have used Freedom for many years. Peace of mind that we are covered for medical conditions and can enjoy our holiday. Very easy to use, online quotes and staff on the phones are very helpful, thanks."
Providing you have declared your original diagnosis, the Freedom policy will cover you to make a cancellation claim if you are unable to travel due to a change in medical circumstances.
If you are still fit to travel following the recurrence, you will need to phone us to ensure your medical deceleration is up to date!
Yes. Our medical question will ask whether you've ever been diagnosed with a cancerous condition, therefore, this will need to be included in your medical screening.
In some cases yes, you would need to do a medical screening to confirm this. However please be aware that we can be a lot more flexible with our rates if you are looking a single trip quotation as this is then based where you are travelling actually to.
