National Lockdown & Tier 4 Travel Restrictions

As a result of the latest government announcement regarding lockdown restrictions, we have suspended all new single trip quotes for travel prior to 1st April 2021. This will be reviewed subject to government guidance. For details of all lockdown restrictions visit gov.uk/coronavirus

If you are travelling after 1st April 2021, you can still purchase policies online or over the phone by calling 01223 446 914. Cover will not be effective until travel restrictions are lifted. For any enquires, please email operations@freedominsure.co.uk 

*All travellers should check the latest FCDO travel advice for their destination at gov.uk prior to purchasing insurance or travelling. There will be no cover under this policy if you travel to a country or area where the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) or government are advising against all or all but essential travel. There is no cancellation cover if you are unable to travel due to the FCDO or government advising against all or all but essential travel.

Following the government announcement that much of England has been placed under Tier 4 restrictions, we have summarised what this means for travel and your travel insurance.

Our policies will not provide any cover if you travel against government advice, which currently applies to those living in tier 4 areas. International travel is currently permitted under tiers 1 to 3, providing you are not travelling against the advice of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) or government.

Single trip and annual multi-trip policies are available for trips later in the year, however, be aware there is no cancellation cover if you are unable to travel due to the FCDO or government advising against all or all but essential travel. If there is advice against travel in place on your departure date, policy cover will be invalid for the trip. For the latest advice: Foreign Travel Advice

If your trip is cancelled due to travel restrictions, you should contact your tour operator or travel provider for a refund or alternative travel dates. We can then explore options of moving your insurance cover.
